Use of nitrogen and PGPRs for management of spot blotch in barley (Hordeum vulgare)

Spot blotch disease of barley caused by Bipolaris sorokiniana is prevalent everywhere but causes significant yield losses under warm and humid climates. Use fungicides a common practice to control the spot at same time it can pose risk environment as well humans consuming such products. A field experiment was conducted minimize incidence in using different nitrogen levels PGPRs seed treatment. Application lower dose (50% RDF – N1) treatment with Azotobacter + PSB B3) either individually or combination significantly reduced severity increased barley. As may be concluded that managed use along fungicide avoided.
